Who hasn’t dreamt of a shorter, more efficient week — and a three-day weekend? “Benevolence might pay for employers,” John Pencavel, an economics professor at Stanford who has studied working hours and productivity, tells LinkedIn. 

“Shorter hours may not compromise output. Shorter hours may involve lower labor costs. Not only does the employer benefit, the employee can too.”
